A hairy hundred!

Well seeing as this is my 100th post, I guess we should have a little bit of blog candy to give away as a thanks to all of you that have been visiting my blog and leaving me lovely comments since I started this in April last year.

I was unsure about doing the blog to start off with as I thought it was 'showing off' a bit, but I've had so much fun doing the challenges and sketches from various sites that I no longer think of it as that. I've also got so much inspiration from others with blogs, so thanks for that also. Not to mention of course the blog buddies I've made.

Up for grabs is an altered notebook, which I have started decorating:

and will personalise with the winners choice of name, notes or recipes etc. Once I know what is wanted for the front, I'll decorate using a selection of embellishments from the picture and probably a few more I've not picked out yet!

There will be other goodies in the parcel with the notebook, depending on if the winner is a papercrafter or not (although it would be fun seeing someone trying to knit with patterned paper!).

All you have to do is leave a comment on this post and I'll use one of those random generator thingies to pick a winner on Thursday 17th Jan around 11am GMT (or around then depending on when I get my arse out of bed)!

In knitting news, I have started knitting a hairy monkey. I wanted to make a smaller version like Monkeemaker's HP's so I searched through her blog to find the calculations - divide by 3 then times by 2 - and sat down to figure it out. I'd done the body front and was feeling a bit smug that I'd done it until I realised that I also ought to be reducing the number of rows too!! Gggrr!! Somehow I don't think a tall skinny monkey would look the same! Me being me, I couldn't be arsed to start again especially as my brain was fried by now.

So, it's a full size hairy one for me! This is how far I've got.

I think this may take me some time! I'm hoping that if I drop a stitch it's so tangled that it'll never fall apart or notice! Don't hold your breath.

Congratulations on reaching 100 posts I just realised that I have just managed 50 posts. MM has tempted everyone with her hairy monkees as I have one on the go too, I loved her abominable snow monkey. Good luck with the knitting fortunately I did notice when I dropped the stitch.

I tried to work out the HP monkee pattern and lost the plot totally!! Mmmmm, sorry to say you probably will notice the dropped stitches and it's a b**ger to sew up!!! Apart from that no problem ;)

100 posts! Many congrats Kaz.

I know what you mean, worrying about the "showing off" angle .... just think of it more as sharing your creativity :)

Good luck with the hairy monkey, it looks a gorgeous colour. And I think tall and skinny would be fab!

I love the notebook. What a great idea! I do knit, but normally with yarn. My favorite thing to do, though is to stamp or scrapbook.

OOOOOH, love the notebook in the making! Here's to hoping I am the lucky number! :) You are a brave soul with the hairy monkey! Knitting itself is challenge enough but you got enough gumption to add the furry yarn to the mix... Like I said BRAVE SOUL! LOL
