WOYWW - the first Cupboard of Doom.

I've finally plucked up the courage to start sorting this:

It had got to the stage where I was only opening the door a fraction and stuffing the papers in quickly before shutting it again! So yesterday I was brave and got a rubbish and a recycling bag and got going. I've sorted quite a bit, but then lost the will to live and stopped. I did get a big pile for shredding and have moved a couple of the box files into the living room to sort through 'later'! It now looks like:

Which is quite impressive, until you see this:

Somehow I have to find homes for these things and seeing as that involves thinking, that won't be done soon either!

I'm now off to ~{Julia's Blog}~ to have a good snoop through other people's crafty stash.

Did you find any hidden treasure in there?

er that cupboard didn't look sooo bad hahahaha!!!

Good luck with it all sweetie XXX

Oh well done! The will to live is hiding in the bottom of the last thing you do. The trouble is, this sort of tidying always has a knock on effect and leads to massive re-arranging when all you really wanted to do is put paper away without creasing it, huh!!
Oh and just to keep you up to date about the flower jar - I moved it to use as a weight to hold down some stuff that I'd glued!!!!!

Great sorting come and do my place next! ** Kate **

so you basically moved it out of the cupboard and onto the floor? Jolly good, that's what I do too =)

I'd say you made quite a dent in the sorting. I know you will get it finished when the time comes for you to find something in those boxes that you absolutely can't do without.

Have a fun and no thinking WOYWW.

Ooh I thought you'd thrown over half of it away! It's difficult sorting stuff; I find it so anyway 'cos I never know which is the best place for what. Good luck with the rest of it ;)

Well done on getting started, more than I managed on my desk today! (although I did empty the bin while waiting for my heat gun to cool down enough to work again!)

Thinking is definitely overrated Kaz, but you've made a great start.

I find that when I move something into the front room inorder to sort it later ...later never comes. If I have a drastic tidy ...I usually find that something I was brave enough to throw out is needed a few days later. Thats why I dont tidy ...leave it to DD and then I can blame her.

Good luck! i didn't think your cupboard looked that bad before you started!!

Well done on all your sorting - it always goes through a stage where it gets worse before it gets better!

I too lose the will to live after starting a big clear-up...but needs must sometimes.. it will be worth it in the end though.. when you can stand back and admire all your stash all neat and tidy.. honestly it will!! HONEST!

Aw, it's always worse before it gets better. You've made a good start, but I know what you mean, you just have too much stuff for the size of your house!

Great job of tidying!

chrisg said...

Good luck with the tidying Kaz. I made a start last month (and mine was just a table not a cupboard) and it took me the best part of a day and a half - didn't take long to fill it again though. LOL ... a mess is a sign of a creative person I always say (my excuse and i'm sticking to it LOL).

Good luck with the sorting out, I hate doing that, always get side tracked because I usually find something I'd forgotten about, lol.

Good job getting started on the cupboard. I laughed about your spending posts from the previous post. I am having the same issues, but those dies are 'to die' for.

Gez said...

Well Done Kaz. You've done a fantastic make over on your cupboard of doom. Had to smile about you opening the doors, throwing something in & quickly shutting them again! sounds like my wardrobe!
Just think of all that space you've made for your new stash. There's room for lots more now!
So sorry I'm so late calling. Have fun with Jess next week. Hugs, Gez.xx
