WOYWW - M.E awareness day

I don't normally do a full-on M.E post, but I'm doing it just for today as it's M.E. Awareness Day today. I've done this art journal page over the last week to express the bad things that are part of my day to day life. However, and it's a big however, I do have in mind a page of all the positive things that have come with being ill. If I hadn't got sick, I would never have started crafting and made such lovely forum friends and bloggy buddies; not to mention the friendships I have made with other M.E-ers.

So on to the more fun part of today. It's time to show what's going on crafty wise today via ~{Julia's Blog}~ and can I just say, over 100 playing last week?!! Wow, who'd have thought we were such nosey people? Yeah, me, I think it and I love it!

I got back from Lynne's on Monday and had to prioritise as I'm off on a crafty retreat on Friday. So first on my list was sorting the stash to take away.

This is the refined version as to start with I had 2 crates of stuff plus the tote bags! I had to really be ruthless and tell myself that I'm only going for a few days. I've got a load of stamps (the brown tote is just wooden stamps) paints, inkpads, some beads and wire for a bracelet class, art journal, retreat journal, wrecky journal and lots of pens. Then there's the goody bag to give to someone and the stuff that someone may take off my hands, and leave space for me to maybe take something off someone elses hands. And finally, the monkeys have been made for the raffle.

Now I've got the craft stuff sorted I need to unpack clothes and wash them and maybe even wash up (I'm such a slob I haven't done any since I got back and now I don't have any clean mugs). I'm running on adrenaline at the mo, but if I get sorted today I can rest up tomorrow.

So I apologise as there's no way I will get around to everyone's blogs today, but I will get to as many as possible.

A retreat sounds like heaven, love the little monkeys, the journal is a good idea of how you feel I had a friend who was just the same, up for a couple of weeks and then in bed for a week. I do hope you have brilliant weekend. Show us all your makes when you come back.

Hi Kaz.. I can see how the journal lets you exercize the deamons on your illness - and while i don't think of myself as having been ill, i certainly think i've had some moments in the last few months to let me follow your lead - although don't have a BIA to make one... although i'm sure there are loads of ways to make a journal...

thanks for sharing your thoughts - I hope that the positives outweight the negatives.

Big hugs

Paula x x x

p.s. you do well to lug all that craft stuff back and forth!!!

I love your art journal Kaz and found the journalling very touching. My best friend of 10 years has a similar illness and it reminded me how things aren't always as easy as they appear on the outside. I hope you have an absolutely fantastic time at your retreat and look forward to seeing what you make! Have a wonderful week. Tracey x

Thanks for sharing those journaling pages - they brought a lump to my throat, as one who also has a body that can't cope with the 'me' inside. Just catching up with recent crafting - fab, as always. You're very organised with your stash for the retreat - hope you (and monkeys) have a terrific time (wish I was coming too, but that body of mine ...) x
