Another page

This one is for the times when I question whether I am creating anything worthwhile due to failing art o level. You may have gathered that I have a big hang-up over this! So maybe I should dedicate it to my art teacher who I can't remember ever 'teaching' me. I have toyed with the idea of perhaps doing art GCSE as distance learning, but you still have to draw things!!

I did the text thicker than this, but I wasn't happy with it so I just splattered lots of gesso over it and started again. It covered up the text paper that was underneath it though, but that's better than it was. I've used lots of layers of patterned papers and doodles plus a Tim bird die-cut.

This is so fab, Kaz. I'm totally with you about the failing GCE - I did as well - I was OK with the drawing, but as soon as I tried to paint it was a different story - but it's never too late to let the creativity flow. You've certainly found a niche for your creativity and I love seeing what you create x

Don't worry about the Art o'level you have a beautiful talent. I re-did French o'level for the same reason, I increased my grade and was delighted but 8 years on I struggle with my french as I only dust it off when we go to Paris to visit family.
Enjoy your art its what makes you happy, never mind the grades. Your page is beautiful jane x

i don't think that you don't need the art qualification to consider yourself an artist but if you want to learn techniques then why not do some distance learning.

Your journal page has beautiful colours and some wonderful doodling.

Spot on with the sentiment and the page looks fab! I don't think you need a certificate to tell you you can make art, you just need to recgonise it in what you do and enjoy the process so only go for a distance GCSE if you can find your old teacher so that you can wave your results under his/her nose!

Love this, and soooo true, there is more to art than being able to draw, in fact being able to draw really is the last thing you need to be able to do!
